Edwin Lobos is from Los Angeles CA he started working with youth at an early age as he was a youth counselor for a Jewish Community Center in Hollywood CA. Soon after he graduated from HS and began College at California State University Los Angeles that’s when he knew that working with youth and giving back to the community is what he wanted to do. In the early 90”s he worked for a youth program in Watts and Compton he developed and organized team sports for many elementary schools in the LA Metro Area and became a drug and alcohol prevention specialist. After 10 years working in the projects in Watts he took a job as Unit Director for one of the most prestige Boys and Girls Clubs in Los Angeles Challengers/Lennox Boys and Girls CLub, soon after he became a community leader and was offered a job as Project Manager for Say Yes To Life a non profit organization in South Central Los Angeles. In that role Mr. Lobos managed over 500 LAUSD teachers who tutored over 10 thousand kids in math and reading. During that time Mr. Lobos was also a board member for The Special Olympics of Metro Los Angeles , he also coached and volunteered for the unified school teams.
After working in the inner city with diverse cultural backgrounds for over 14 years Mr. Lobos moved to Phoenix Arizona as he became an enrollment counselor for Grand Canyon University. He wanted to get back and work with the community so he left GCU to work for Colangelo Boys and Girls Club in Phoenix AZ as a Program Manager where he ran the entire club house of over 150 kids, volunteers, and staff. While working in a music recording studio one of his colleagues approached him with an idea to start a non-profit and together they created “FRESH PAIR OF KICKS CAMPAIGN” a 501 c3 youth non-profit that helps youth and families by providing a new pair of shoes for those in need. They also provide educational programs in the areas music, songwriting, engineering and production. They reward children with a new pair of shoes as an incentive for their hard work and dedication which promotes self esteem and character building through learning. Now Mr Lobos is the Founder and Executive of his own non-profit and is currently working on fundraiser events, grant writing, donations and developing partnerships with business owners and the community.
